What’s with these Chinese-Triad types threatening violence to hipsters who crack wise in line to them, after they brusquely push their stuff onto the conveyor belt at those “DOLLAR TREE” stores?  Or all these folks tying up the lines at the Plaid Pantry™, buying money orders in ungodly amounts clearly the result of “black market” transactions (y’know: the “kind of business whose transactions are overwhelmingly in the form of cash,” as per Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland [1990])? The Portland Police told me, uh, “we’ll get back to you on that.”  What do you know about it, “Dr. Know?”

[*] Like the first James Bond movie, Dr. No [1962]!  You’re not supposed to “get it,” it’s so out of context!  Unless you do, in which case … he’s not slumming!  (i.e., “I went to Reed College!”)

Stifle your yawns, please folks … nothing to see here!
