What’ll 2014 Bring?

ALBUM OF THE YEAR: 11 years after their last one — making them only the latest of the “reunited-and-it-feels-so-good” club (feat. Guided by Voices, Polvo, Mission of Burma, Dinosaur Jr., etc.) — this one feat. surf rock, guitar rock, (cyber-)space rock, instrumentals, a recollection of the Pixies’ Bossanova — and, truth be told, I hardly expected this one to “win out” as the Most Coveted in My CD Player for this year … but, as it happens … NO CONTEST!

PLUS: It’s great for parties!  For Boomers/Gen X’ers/Millenials who are avid Twilight Zone fans (too late to fake it — tough shit, folks!  That’s the sole bona-fide continuity … provided, of course, you kept up with later shit, and I didn’t just have to tell you!) … good luck w/yr. Life!
RUNNER’S-UP: (In relative order of repeat-airplay)

Get ’em all … HERE!

(And I haven’t even gotten around to Scout Niblett’s It’s Up to Emma, Luscious Jackon’s Magic Hour, or Throwing Muses’ Purgatory/Paradise … yet!)
